Coronavirus / Information & Cancellation Policy

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities and governments around the world who are on the front line working to contain this coronavirus. Canada has been on the forefront of these efforts and has been actively involved in federal and provincial containment programs since December 2019.

Please know that CapeRace is vigilantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and have precautions in place to ensure a healthy stay at any of our private Newfoundland homes. We want you to know the safety of our guests and associates is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the World Health Organization (WHO), the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the local municipal health agencies for the latest developments related to COVID-19. We will be following the guidance of these government and public health officials. At this time there is one presumptive case on the island of Newfoundland and three cases on mainland Labrador.

All of our 2020 trips remained scheduled for May 2020 onward. You should have confidence when you book a vacation with CapeRace that we will ensure our accommodations are safe and ready for your Newfoundland adventure.

CapeRace has been delivering our "Eco-Culture Experience" trip for over 15 years. It is important to note that we are maintaining our original heath and sickness cancellation policy which states any deposit placed on a CapeRace trip will be protected and can be deferred and or transferred to a third party 2 years after the original departure date as a result of health or sickness issues. COVID-19 logistical restrictions are covered under this policy.

We recognize that these are unsettling times and whether you are traveling with us now in the future we want you to know that your safety and wellbeing are our first priority. We hope you will be able to enjoy our fresh ocean air and untouched expansiveness the island of Newfoundland has to offer.
