CapeRace CULINARY & Fisher's Loft Inn
A Gastro-Cultural Experience: Seven days of culinary intrigue for the curious diner. We've partnered with Fishers' Loft Inn to create the ultimate culinary cultural travel experience. We are using food as a conduit to crossing cultural barriers, allowing travellers to peer further into the rich Newfoundland cultural scene. St. John's is a secret foodie capital, with unparalleled cuisine inspired by the New Nordic movement that Copenhagen and Stockholm embraced ten years ago. It's the closest city to Europe and has similar variations of the local flora that first inspired Scandinavian chefs to forage in their backyards. The same wealth of wild edibles has inspired local Newfoundland chefs to embrace their striking coastal landscape and rich heritage while adding their own contemporary twist, putting Newfoundland's culinary scene on the map. Ingredients evoke landscapes, recipes recall history and certain dishes can unlock the very essence of a place and its people".
Your stay begins on the breathtaking Avalon Peninsula at St. John's, the oldest city in North America, and concludes at Trinity Bight on the Bonavista Peninsula. Trinity Bight consists of 12 communities. Fishers’ Loft is situated in the middle of the Bight at Port Rexton. Within a 20-minute drive are many attractions, historic sites, theatre, hikes and ocean boat trips. Your trip will be steeped in local characters, spectacular wildlife and wide-ranging memorable dining experiences, from the exquisite to the Anthony Bourdain-style edgy.
Fisher's Loft Inn was named one of the top 15 places to stay in Canada by National Geographic in recognition of the Inn's commitment to place and culture.

"...Here we are at the ass-end part of the universe, rural, middle of nowhere Newfoundland, eating one of the finest meals in the North America. Because let's face it. Newfoundland is incredible..." Anthony Bourdain on his recent trip to Newfoundland with his CNN show Parts Unknown..."
