Feel At Home

Wake up in the morning and pad down to the kitchen in sock feet to put the kettle on. Leave the porch light on when you go for an evening walk. Chat with the neighbours about their kitchen garden, and maybe you’ll share a glass of wine while you munch on the radishes they picked in the afternoon. Stay up late or sleep in, it’s your call. By swapping out a hotel for a private home, you go from being a tourist to a visitor. You trade buffet breakfast for french toast in your pyjamas, no hair-brushing required. No need to put out the Do Not Disturb sign.

But we know the older the crab, the tougher his claws. That’s why our homes are kitted out with crisp linens, premium beds, stellar views and all the best bits about a hotel stay. The design is thoughtful, the details of your stay are carefully considered, and most of all, the sense of place—of St. John’s, Hearts Delight and Bonavista, and of Newfoundland as a whole—are what it’s all about.

Our Coastal Boltholes

A bolthole is a hideaway, a spot to escape to. Our collection of coastal homes began with restoring the original Sooley homestead, E.J. Sooley House. As they say, await a fair wind and you’ll get one: we became known as those folks who save biscuit boxes from the fateful wrecking ball, and our collection grew. Each one is unique in its personality, not unlike the characters you’ll meet in your travels.
